How SORD works with Academics

SORD record and original Thesis (1982)SORD is about making a very large amount of extremely relevant chemical reaction data readily accessible and includes translations from non-English language sources.

SORD is possible through the collaboration of academic research groups and university librarians in a Cooperative Scheme. The benefits of the Cooperative Scheme for Academia, together with the contractual commitments for each participating university, are set out below:

  • ready access to very large amounts of extremely relevant chemical reaction data;
  • translation of texts from Non-English language sources;
  • full experimental details will be available from the database, so no further need to revert to journals or go back to the original thesis;
  • the database made available in a general readable format;
  • free-of-charge access to all data in the SOR Database for members of the academic institutes who fully contribute to the database in the Cooperative Scheme.
