Contractual commitments for Universities in the Cooperative Scheme
The Cooperative Scheme between SORD and Universities contains contractual commitments for the research groups (“Department”) and/or the University Library (“Library”) who are responsible for:
- making Theses/Dissertations available to SORD;
- assisting SORD in ensuring that the chemical reaction data contained in these Theses/Dissertations and processed by SORD is not subject to any copyright restrictions by the author, a publisher or the University.
The Cooperative Scheme is intended to be both transparent and fair to all parties. The Librarian and academic users of the SOR Database within the Cooperative Scheme must agree to the following limitations concerning use of the database:
- industrial access to the SOR Database via an academic account is strictly prohibited at all times;
- users accessing the database are not allowed to distribute or to copy data other than for their own personal and academic use.
The duration of the Cooperative Scheme, and its ensuing benefits and contractual commitments, will be determined by the Department and the Library and how they maintain their active collaboration with SORD.
